What is a Rheumatologist

Rheumatologists are internal medicine doctors who specialize in musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases providing diagnosis and therapy that does not include surgery.

 

Rheumatologist training

Rheumatologists must complete four years of medical school followed by three years of residency in internal medicine.  After residency they must complete additional two years fellowship in Rheumatology.
